I had been searching for what I thought was love.
Through the James Group and some counseling, I have discovered that in reality,
it was not love, but protection. A strong ally to protect me, to lift me,
to comfort me.
Although it has been somewhat difficult for me to not understand, but to
accept, worldly protection does not compare to that of Jesus.
Once one feels the protection from Christ the first time, they can then feel
the protection ALL the time. They just have to open their hearts and mind
and know, without a doubt, that it is there.
This refuge is not the arms of another holding you, or by what they tell you,
but it is the overwhelming feeling that Jesus is present, and we all know that
He is-all the time.
We do need the camaraderie of other Christians. Hebrews 10:25 states, “ Let us
not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us
encourage one another-and all the more as you see the day approaching.”
(NIV). However, it is Christ to which we must turn
for refuge and peace. God has said, “Never will I leave you: never will I
forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5. (NIV).

We each have a past. We each have a future. We know how you feel. We have felt it too. The promise of God's love and forgiveness gives us strength and hope. "But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, the blood of Jesus, His Son purifies us from all sin." 1 John 7 I never thought that I would become who I am today. I did not realize what freedom looked like. I see it now, in all its glory. I never thought I could be who others saw, and knew I could be. I thought others did not understand, never experiencing what I did. But I was wrong. Others have felt everything that I have. And you know what? So did Jesus. Every feeling we have ever felt or are going to feel, He felt it too. It seems to me that knowing what freedom looks like, feeling its strength, its presence would be enough to fight the dark side. Sure, I still struggle, we all do. The difference is that there are those who keep riding toward the victory line, and there are others who do not. Know this, freedom is grand! I long to hear, when the time is come, "Well done good and faithful servant!" ~Anonymous Me~
